Apparently I've got to write a blog for Michael. Not sure why? Maybe he's bored of doing it already? Probably. I certainly am after 27 words. So I'll keep this short and to the point: it's expensive here.
We landed on Friday afternoon. By the end of Friday night we'd spent at least £260. Mostly on alcohol. Not like we had hundreds of drinks though which, to an extent, would have justified that sort of outlay. Nope. We only had about 8 or so each and we were only drinking normal drinks like beer and wine... and Fanta mixed with rose wine. Actually, we weren't drinking that but some weird lads on the table next to us were (pictured right). Apparently the Fanta helps masks the dirty taste of the cheap bottle of wine. Seriously. How about getting a better bottle? I know it's expensive to drink out here but, come on, just don't drink and certainly don't mix orange Fanta with a shit bottle of wine. That's just strange. Anyway, we got home close to 3am. Good work oldies...
Yesterday it rained for 38 hours in 4 hours. Felt like that anyway. So that rendered our planned sight seeing with hangovers useless. So we went to Burger King and then shopping instead. Michael declined the chance to see Liz in action in the shops and took Sam home for a sleep instead. Took him about 45 minutes in the rain to get there. Shame he left his keys with us then wasn't it? Ahh. So after sheltering from the monsoon he made the trip back - cold, tired, with an irritable Sam who didn't take to sleeping in his buggy in the rain. Don't blame him. Still, he came back to a cool little Cheap Monday jumper (pictured below)we found him in Stockholm's coolest shop. We then spent a few hours in this cool children's library which had loads of things for Sammy to do whilst we waited for the rain to break. It didn't. So we eventually ventured out into it and went off to (a) look at Stockholm from a lovely vantage point, (b) have dinner in a nice restaurant and (c) stop for a wee at Abba's hotel. And that was that. Back to the flat for an early night.
And today? After an impressive three and a bit hours sleep (no, I'm not sure why either - still, I spent my waking hours well - checked in to our homeward flight, played Angry Birds and then got a text from a my friends who'd just given birth to their first baby (daughter - Martha). Ahh. Once everyone else woke up to join me in "awake world" we took Sam to about 3 parks - one full of animals which left Liz was more excited that Sam - had scrambled egg on toast with ketchup (Sammy's fave) and wrote a blog. What's left of our stay? Not much. Just a quick visit to the old town then on to the airport. We've left ourselves more to see for our next trip...
Right, need to go. Michael wants to watch Liverpool lose to Man Utd.
Goodbye from Uncle David...
